This silk charmeuse dress was shown at the Fashion Institute of Technology as part of a group exhibition inspired by Elsa Schiaparelli. I created the dress using a bias-tube draping technique from the 1930s. The dress has a two-tiered bubble hem and the silk is also printed with a bubble pattern, a nod to Schiaparelli’s fondness for visual jokes.
